*Land grabbing: Local communities and individuals lose access to land they owned or used before. This land is in mostly bought up by private foreign or national investors and large agri-businesses which use the land for speculation and for growing commodity crops for the world market. Through land grabbing local communities are threatened to lose their food sovereignty. Land grabbing is often accompanied by severe environmental degradation, the destruction of healthy ecosystems, water, soil and air.
